Introducing the CPS Safer Choice Program
Center for Pet Safety’s Safer Choice™ program fills a critical gap in consumer protection where no independent safety standards currently exist. This initiative will save pets’ lives, prevent avoidable injuries, and reduce costly veterinary bills by guiding families toward safer pet products.

PROGRAM PURPOSE
CPS Safer Choice empowers pet owners with clear, data-backed guidance to help them avoid hazardous products. The program will make an immediate impact in high risk categories, like pet toys, where injuries and fatalities are common and preventable.

WHY THIS PROGRAM MATTERS
Pet toys are among the manufactured products most often linked to pet injury and death in reports to our organization, a prime example of the need for independent safety standards. The CPS Safer Choice program will directly address this urgent need.

THE PET TOYS REPORT
Pet owners are reporting the same heartbreaking story to us, again and again. See what CPS uncovered — and how to protect your pet before it’s too late.
